Dr. Barnea received her Psy.D. in School Psychology in 2017 from St. John’s University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Robert Louis Stevenson School, a therapeutic high school in New York, NY. Dr. Barnea has received extensive training in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive compulsive disorder. She has completed an intensive training in DBT offered by Behavioral Tech, LLC. Dr. Barnea has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of settings including inpatient, day treatment, outpatient, school, and college counseling programs. She currently provides individual DBT and CBT and co-leads DBT skills groups for adolescents and adults at the Lake Success CCDBT office and the Manhattan CCDBT office.
