Dr. Meyering received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and her B.A in Psychology and Sociology at Georgetown University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship the Brooklyn VA hospital, where she focused on complex trauma and severe mental illness. Dr. Meyering has extensive training in evidence based treatments for trauma, anxiety, and personality disorders; including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She has a strong interest in the therapeutic alliance, and her research has focused on how patients and therapists repair ruptures in the alliance when they are from different cultural groups. Dr. Meyering has provided empirically supported treatments in inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospital settings for individuals, groups, couples, and families. She currently provides individual CBT and DBT and co-leads DBT skills groups for adolescents and adults at CCDBT in the Lake Success office.
