Ms. Bucell received her Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University where she was part of the select Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training lab. Prior to joining CCDBT she completed clinical internships at The Child Mind Institute in downtown Manhattan, and at STEPS to End Family Violence where she provided trauma counselling to inmates at the Rose M. Singer Center on Rikers Island. Ms. Bucell has intensive training in DBT as offered by Behavioral Tech, LLC and additionally has comprehensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), and a variety of evidence-based trauma treatments. She is an advanced practitioner of mindfulness-based interventions. Ms. Bucell spent just shy of two years teaching and studying mindfulness-based interventions throughout East and Southeast Asia. She is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as designated by the UCSD Center for Mindfulness, and has additional training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Ms. Bucell works with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a range of difficulties including those related to mood, anxiety, trauma, and chronic pain. Currently, she provides individual DBT and CBT, and co-leads DBT skills groups for adolescents and adults at the Lake Success and Manhattan CCDBT offices.
